Carving Pumpkins

Last Saturday we had a lazy day around the house. After dinner we carved our first pumpkin and we all had a blast. It took us awhile to decide what we were going to do on the face. I wanted to be religious and Larry said that it wouldn't kill them to have a smiley face on a pumpkin ;) I love the balance he brings to our lives. So outside they went to clean it out and poor Sean wanted to be out there so bad! He just stood at the door and said "uhh-kin" over and over.

Hillcrest Farms

In September I had the cousins come for a long weekend. I had a great time planned for all and we started with the Yellow Daisy Festival on Friday. Saturday we woke up early and drove North to pick some apples at Hillcrest Farms. I knew that they would be having extra events like milking the cow, pig races, clogging and of course hayrides. We were there all day and came home that night to celebrate Sean's first birthday with family and friends. To say I was tired would be an understatement!

After being a part of this race I will never be the same. They named each pig...Angelina Jowlie, Elvis piggly, Brad pig just to name a few. They spray painted each back and asked for kids from the audience to be the pig jockeys. Olivia and Katherine were both chosen. Olivia's pig won!

Olivia's prize...sugar on a stick.

Kylie and Amberly were with us for the weekend and said their favorite part was the funnell cakes at the Yellow daisy festival.
We took a ride through the apple orchard and returned to see a group of cloggers on the stage while we ate.

We had a great time and had wonderful weather. The orchard will definitely be a place we visit in the future.

Fun days with Norah

Norah is about 2 1/2 months younger then Sean. She has been staying with us during the week while her Mommy and Daddy go to work. She loves to talk and laugh especially at Katherine. She almost started walking this week and is so polite as she does her baby signs. Sean LOVES her and gets very excited when he sees her Daddy walk up to the back door with her in his hands. He usually waves his arms wildly and says Norah over and over again. All of this is followed by kissing and hugging and the occasional push her over move which is sure to get her to pay more attention to him instead of all of the great toys she rediscovers every week. We love you Norah and glad you are a part of the family!

Leaves

Last week while Evan was at school it was a breezy morning and Katherine decided it was just perfect for raking leaves. I cleaned up b'fast and put Sean down and she and I had fun in the back raking, talking, laughing and of course taking pictures

"I like having a great time with my Mommy because Mommy is my sweet mommy. I love her because she always makes my breakfast. I love Mommy." Katherine age 5

Backyard Fun

We love our backyard. Even though the rain makes it a little squooshy we are back there a lot. We also love it that Daddy is good at sports and will play with us.

Disney on Ice

October 16th we went to the Phillips Arena with some homeschool friends to see Disney on Ice.

Katherine and I both have found such sweet friends in this family. Abigail is 5 just like K and Trudy(the mom) has three children like myself. We like to cook and we are all about hands on teaching. I look forward to many more times with them.
